Penwood Furniture Warranty Information
Solid Wood Products
- Lifetime Warranty: Penwood Furniture guarantees its products against defects in manufacturing, construction, and workmanship for the lifetime of the furniture. This includes any issues arising from the way the furniture was built or put together, ensuring peace of mind for our customers.
- Natural Characteristics: Solid wood furniture is known for its unique grain patterns and natural color variations. As a natural material, it may expand or contract with changes in humidity and temperature. These natural characteristics are not considered defects but rather enhance the beauty and uniqueness of each piece.
- 1-Year Limited Warranty: We provide a 1-year warranty on fabric, leather, and hardware components. This covers any manufacturing defects that may affect the functionality or appearance of these materials within the first year of use.
Items Not Covered Under Warranty
- Normal Wear and Tear: Over time, furniture may naturally experience minor wear and tear from regular use, such as slight surface abrasions or fading of finishes.
- Misuse or Abuse: Damage caused by improper use, mishandling, or neglect, including but not limited to accidents, impacts, or improper cleaning methods.
- Transportation or Delivery Damage: While Penwood Furniture takes great care during delivery, any damage sustained during transportation or delivery by third-party carriers or due to improper handling post-delivery is not covered.
- Improper Storage: Damage caused by improper storage conditions that do not adhere to recommended guidelines, including exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, or moisture levels.
- Surface Damage: Scratches, dents, or stains caused by sharp objects, rough handling, or neglecting to use protective measures under hot or heavy objects. Also, damage from prolonged exposure to liquids or chemicals.
- Humidity-Related Issues: Excessive shrinking, cracking, planking, or warping of wood furniture due to inadequate or excessive humidity levels in the home environment. It is recommended to maintain indoor humidity levels between 35% and 55% to preserve the integrity of your furniture.
- Sunlight Exposure: Fading or discoloration of finishes, fabrics, or wood surfaces caused by prolonged, direct exposure to sunlight.
- Chemical Damage: Damage resulting from the use of cleaning products containing waxes, silicone, or harsh chemicals that may affect the integrity of the furniture’s finish or materials.
- Fabric and Leather: Defects in fabrics or leather that have been subjected to chemical treatments or protective coatings. This includes tears, pilling, fading, shrinking, or flattening of nap.
- Unauthorized Modifications: Any alterations, repairs, or modifications made to the furniture by unauthorized personnel or entities that compromise its structural integrity or original condition.
